Primary Health Care to Locate in Chattooga County

The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce welcomed Erica Green, Community Liaison, of Primary Health Care who addressed their monthly meeting at the Depot on Tuesday.  Ms. Green stated the non-profit organization is well on their way to opening in the Spivey building just north of Summerville.
Their mission is to provide high quality, affordable, and accessible preventive services, primary health care and dental services to all individuals, regardless of ability to pay.  The center has been open and operating in Trenton for 30 years and also has an office in Rossville.  They have been wanting to come to Chattooga County for a number of years, but the current economy has made business expansion difficult.  Funding is currently in reach, and with the acquisition of space, opening by the end of the year is in the plans.
In addition to the Chamber of Commerce assistance has been provided by Sole Commissioner, Jason Winters, Senator Jeff Mullis, Rep. Barbara Reece, and former Chamber Executive Director, Sue Spivey.  This business location once fully staffed will employ up to 20 people across a broad variety of dicisplines including doctors, dentists, nurse practioneers, nurses, assistants, and administrative staff.
