Congressman Gingrey addressed the monthly chamber luncheon on Monday and hit many hot button issues. He complemented the commitment of our local manufacturers in maintaining and creating jobs in this economy. Local manufacturing concerns were well represented including Mt. Vernon Mills of Trion and Try-Con Tufters of Lyerly who provided sponsorship for the event.

Those shown in the attached photo are: Joe R. Norton, Mayor of Summerville; Don Henderson, Mount Vernon Mills; Sam Barbre, Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce Chairperson; Congressman Gingrey; Jason Winters, Chattooga County Commissioner; David Tidmore, Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce President; and Russell Thompson, City Manager, Summerville.

Newsworthy notes from the Congressman is that a vote on health care will take place the week of March 15 previous to President Obama embarking on an Asian visit.
